Looks like the Zone site is still having problems playing embedded Vimeo videos since I'm guessing it is a Vimeo video.

Another Zoner mentioned a video work around, and it works for me:

Assuming you can't see DJ's link (and I could not);

Log in as if you're going to reply;

Do hit 'reply';

At that point, with the reply box staring you in the face, scroll to DJ's post with the missing link, and it will have appeared. That has worked 100% of this time for me... so far.

I haven't had a chance to get out in decent conditions to really test it. As you can probably tell from the video, this was a fairly light wind and the bumps didn't last long. The steering is pretty responsive but the rudder is a long way forward due to the dugout space on the GT. That may end up being an issue. It certainly feels better for control of the board in cross winds and currents with the steering so it has been well worth it. In terms of changing anything, I really did this as a prototype for next board which is the 18' Unlimited Ace which is still a few months away. I believe there will be an opportunity to mount the rudder further back on that board.

PT, I'm kind of buried in projects, but I promised Larry a radio/autopilot rudder by next winter, so I'm committed (Damn you, Larry). I'll make up a few since I have to 3D print the housing anyway. I know Bill Foote's gonna kill me if I make on for Larry and not for him. I'll be showing it off here on the zone. When/if you see it, hit me up and I'll send you one. It will make more sense than that two-string banjo you've got there.

I'm planning it to be just a box with a D shaft receiver that passes through it and a transmitter you stick to your choice of paddle. Fairly simple.

That would be awesome Pono Bill, I will keep my eyes peeled. The RC rudder would be perfect for the new 18' Ace that I'm expecting in August or September.

So better than the Aercor :-)

I still love the Aercor but what the steering does is allows me to paddle both sides even with a strong side wind. The Aercor isn't quite good enough or miraculous enough to allow that.

I'm glad to see watching Vimeo videos is now back. This is the first time I've been able to view DJ's vimeo videos here on the Zone since the re-work of the the Zone.

Another enjoyable video to watch. Since I'm in dry dock from surgery, I can't get back on the water and watching videos like these helps me to keep me from going "stir crazy".

Thanks DJ for always sharing your videos.
