We almost went to Trails on Saturday, just Marty and I but we stopped at Doho on the way south and it was relatively empty, so we stayed put (Bird poop in the hand syndrome).  That and I was worried about the tide swamp near noon and wanted to extend the session as long as I could ...so I started it earlier.  :)
There, fixed it for ya. Lol!!  ;) ;D

Last time I drove past Doho the other day, the berm still looked to be busted open....but not sure if the seagull "john" was draining into it or not.

After getting some sorta ugly rash outta that place 4 years ago....I've curtailed my surfing their to only mid-summer when the berms been solidly in place for several months, and the "beautiful" SJ Creek hasn't flowed into it for just as long.

They still giving out free penicillin shots at the lifeguard towers? :P :D

Hey Dave, what's the scoop on El Nino Damage to all the end of each trail?  It's been a while since I've made the walk, being winter and all.
Trail 3 is still inaccessible, as the lower trail is completely washed away, and it's about a 10-12' drop/jump if you want to get down (not sure how anyone would get back up).

Was just at Trail 2 today, and it's still accessible, but the lower stairs are gone, so there's only one path down now.  Have been to Trails 1, and 6 in the last couple of weeks, and both are still travel-able....although they are kind of rutted up in places where the rain runoff washed part of them away, but those are all easily avoidable.

Don't usually go to 4 and 5, so I don't really know how they're doing, but I haven't heard of them being closed....only T3 so far.

Let me know when you're all headed back down and make a "Trails run".  If today (President's Day) is any indication of the summer we have to come, with DP's parking gone....it's gonna be ugly, and I see a lot more Trails trips in store, and to my other "secret spot(s)", that I'm not telling Zooport about....he blabs to everyone! (Just funning with ya Zoo).  LOL!! :) :)

Zoo, was thinking Wed or Thur but it's looking like rain. Let's see if the weather picture gets any better tomorrow night.

I was at San Clemente Pier today and it was fabulous.  3-5 and glassy all freaking day.  Pretty crowded but there is a lot of room around there to get away from the pack.  I spent the day wondering how Trails was.  It was a good day though.

Just so everyone knows, I've hired someone to follow SanoSup to find all of his secret spots.  (2 guys in a black van with dark hats an sunglasses) They report to me via wrist radio, and I will post all of his secret spots as soon as my intel is in.  Stay tuned.

I know I have to worry about stingrays up at Belmont and to do the shuffle, are there any other beaches I have to worry about them? I would guess the beaches with surf would be free of rays.

I've been stung at Seal Beach Pier and at Power Plant in Huntington Beach.  I see a lot of them around Newport Pier, but rarely hear of anyone getting stung.

That's a part of why I burned out on that place. Stepped on them many times there but only stuck once. Add in a longer than average paddle out, a current that you are always working against, a dozen kooks, another dozen with no idea of etiquette and a couple dozen grumpy Corky Carroll graduates that never went to another spot and I'll find a better spot closer to home.
