Snap on Pole camera test
« on: December 30, 2015, 12:51:11 PM »
Had a super fun session on my new Stretch SUP, the longer rides really gave me a great opportunity to feel the board out and get to know it well.  Super stoked on it.

I also tried a "snap" on/off mounting system for this pole mount.  It worked and came off clean in wipeouts, it also came off to easily when paddling over waves.  So am looking for an improved version that snaps off when wiping out but not when the board is bounced around or slaps going over the back of a wave.  For me testing this stuff is always super fun, adds a level of excitement of the unknown, I love it.  ;D

Aloha, I welcome and appreciate all responses of positivity and good feeling.

Nice vid. Super glassy waves and long rides! You surf that big board well too. I like the chill jam you picked. That spot looks really cool w/the cliffs and the rugged concrete laden access. Keep that clay cam mounted!
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

Reran it! I dig that jam, just might use it after I play around w/some leads to it! Maybe too ambitious?! I'm so stoked on music and surfing and this vid fits the bill for that perf! And that graffiti logo at access is SWEET!

OK, I'm convinced, going to have to try a pole mount. How high is yours?
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

Mean!

That is a great perspective for video or stills. Loved the video, nice empty waves, looked like that golden time of day and nice riding. Felt like I was out there! Where (general area) was this shot? NorCal?

I just shot two videos that I posted on another thread using a nose mount. My JL has a cool FCS mount built in. I couldn't help thinking how much better both of those vid's would have been with the pole mount. That was really fun to watch, I'm going back for seconds, especially since we rarely get nice clean sunset sessions here (wind comes up).

Can you post a picture of the mount?

Sweet!  Glad to hear my pole "ministry" is attracting converts.   The gopro bolt is about 26" above the deck.

Thanks!

Saw your video, your surfing is great, and I agree and I also wanted to see a "bigger" picture with a pole mount.  Here is a thread with some photos, I can post an updated pic if need be:
