Wardog, I have two or three friends that are expressing concern that this shape will be stiff with the wide tail.  They are also saying that it will not have drive.  Would you set their minds at ease for me?
I haven't tried a Jammer (yet), but my favorite surfboard was a wide-tailed McCoy Nugget. I did not find that board to be stiff and it had plenty of drive for me. Proper fins, rails, bottom shape, outline, etc can keep 'em loose and fun. Don't fear them fat bottomed girls!

No, actually plain Jane here.  I'm saving as much money as I can, since this is my second board already in 2015.  I'm using the deck pad that Ralph got for me, which has a lot of graphics already on it.  Other than that, just plain blue, no graphics.  SUP Sports logo because that's free!

My favorite board is also McCoy.  The wide tail really works and this Jammer looks like it rocks.. My wide tailed, wide point behind center McCoys, had drive, turned on a dime and loved the pocket and steep part of the face.  I always thought a quad was the perfect set up for the wide round tail..  If anyone with a Jammer comes down to Cabo, I sure would like to give the board a try...  I got a feeling it that the Jammer would be a lot of fun in good surf...

My parents have a timeshare at Casa Dorada in Cabo.  Right by "The Office."  My wife and I usually mooch in with it and go down there every year or so.  I'll look you up the next time we go and maybe bring the Jammer.

That sounds great Zoo... I really want to surf the board...  I had a ton of spots that I surf alone, especially in the spring n summer..  My lonely winter spots on the Pacific have a major thump factor, but I love em...Cerritos, La Pastora and San Pedrito, are starting to get crowds, so I dont surf there as often, and head to other less known spots.  Would love to show you around sometime.

Cheyne's 5'8" big butted Lazor Zap, that he rode at 20' Waimea 30 years ago, pretty much shattered the surfboard design dogma of the time and created a new paradigm...

Wow, now I see.  I was thinking that the Jammer reminded me of the "no nose" board designs of the 80's.  People like Danny Kwok used to absolutely shred on those around around my house, at about 54th St.  Maybe I'm just old and crabby, but I think modern surfboard designs have nothing on those.

Oh, sure, not worried at all; I know you know your stuff.  Just curious.  25 years ago when I made surfboards in my garage as a hobby, I just put pigment into the glass to get color.  So I'm curious about the modern way of doing these sorts of things.

Funny thing about it, in about 1988, I made a no-nose, 5'11 that was almost the same shape as that Jammer.  And, it was the same color of blue.
