thx burchas--but im good for now--disassembled my backup konihi--the one with water in it--and reassembled with a normal (non-extended)--i plan to weigh--could be the heavy weight you got for the konihi was about the handle?  btw what dis the paddle weigh in at when you checked? so i have a baseline?

eastbound, the weight on the Konihi was 19.3 oz.
I don't believe the extended handle adds more than 1-2oz.

That seems heavy for a Konihi. I have two and neither are that heavy.
