I was thinking the same thing!  Maybe I'll wait for him to come up with a 5'11" before my next buy.

Wow. That's a much simpler execution of the manta mouth design I've been mulling.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

Maybe a little more split in the tail.
Nice Big Tail Kick.
Chimes..

Shorebreak Pistol...

The SS5 with a similar nose, cuts through white water nicely.
I think the shorter boards will toss you trying to punch through..

Paddle technique with a smaller blade to minimize yaw and over powering.

evokes images of Rivieras Door a while back, it felt like the door was just an oddity. Maybe someone screwed up a blank and they just went with it, didnt seem like they really put a lot of thought into it.
Kirk's version looks like a lot of thought has gone into it.
Looks cool but im not sold on the blunt nose-not sold on the TOMO sup shape either but i have yet to ride the L41.
One thing i know he makes great boards and i would like to hear a serious review.

Might have to go for the "Hungry Man" model around 7'0" x 33".

Reminds me of a 7'3 Hobie that I picked up from Fanman and rode for awhile earlier this year.  It was fun but it got a little old after surfing it for about 6 months.  Too wide for my liking, I kept getting a ding in the same place on the rail towards the back and took me awhile to figure out I was hitting my paddle during turns. Ridiculously stable though, I think a 6'6 could be a lot of fun.

The idea of chopped noses is fine for a lot of surfing styles. the nose is out of the water most of the time anyway.

Similar to what "giant" was surfing some time ago....

I've landed on these 3. I'm 6'6x230lbs.

What I ride most of the time, because it's almost always small down in SoCal, under chest high and soft. 6'10x31"x4.7/8"x123L

Anyway know what the "giant" is up to?  Haven't seen him post here in awhile, and haven't seen him at the beach in maybe even longer.
Me: 6'1"/185...(2) 5'1" Kings Foil/Wing Boards...7'10 Kings DW Board...9'6" Bob Pearson "Laird Noserider"...14' Lahui Kai "Manta"...8'0" WaveStorm if/when the proning urges still hit.
