Crossing the fibers would stabilize skin movement quite a bit. One of the ways the boards flex is movement of one skin in relation to the other. Like any x-brace, the crossed fibers pull against each other in tension. Clever, but it must use different machinery to make the fabric.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

Thanks, Levity, that is just awesome and vague enough to ruin my Fall :).

you can wait if you want, or you can get out & have a blast now. I've paddled a variety of inflatables this summer, and had a blast on almost all of them. At 5'10, 210 lbs, all have floated me well from 14PSI up to 20+PSI. My current favorites are the Boardworks Raven & the Red 14 Elite (and a Hala Atcha for whitewater), but all the others mentioned here are great boards.

My me personally, inflatables have almost completely replaced hard boards. They perform great, pack easily, and I find them more forgiving in rougher waters.

Go have fun!
