Nice day in Southampton!
« on: June 16, 2014, 04:11:02 PM »
There's been a fun swell in the water with nice conditions for a few days now!
Also trunked it! Water still in low 60's but with the warm air not a problem  :)

60 degree water, wonder what that feels like.  Santa Cruz may touch that once in a rare while.

I spent lots of water time in Santa Cruz up to Fort Point in the 80's. I remember  to many ice cream headaches, especially at Ocean Beach. I never wore a hoody, that's when they were so uncomfortable to wear.

With the waves breaking at Southampton in fairly shallow water, I didn't have to spend to much under water time. Plus the waves were very peaky so I kept the hair dry for quite a while!

Creek,
Ya I need a camera, just been shooting w/my iPhone before or after my sessions!
I had a nice peak to myself just a little north of the proners! It's been the least crowded that if have seen in my 4th season up here, but it's not summer yet! I've been cracking it on weekends when there is surf. I have to be out of the water by 7 then off to work! It starts my day off right! Plus I don't have to worry about the crowd, so I can get plenty of waves in an hr and a half!

It's been pretty solid at that spot recently with sparse crowds, even on the weekends. Fanman - Look forward to getting a session out there with you soon - where I can take some real photos ;-).  I have trouble getting up that early but will be out there for the week of July 4th.

Btw - picking up a new SUPreme wetsuit from John next time I'm out there, though I'm glad to hear you're already trunking it!

Cheers,

D.

Look forward to seeing you up this way soon!
Yes get your butt up earlier, lol!
Good waves this evening too, light offshore waist high and uncrowded!

Creek,
You need to come down some time and join us!

Aloha,

Nice waves, thanks for shots.  Winter filter   :D

You live in a sup paradise.  There must be waves or flat water everyday,
somewhere.

When we could drive we started doing road trips to shinnecock inlet,
georgica rd east hampton, or secret spots past ditch plains.  The swell was
always a couple of feet bigger "out east".
