Any SUP surfing recommendations for Kauai in October?

I'll be staying at Barking Sands for a week in October. I'd love to rent a SUP somewhere and grab a few waves. Can anyone recommend a friendly break to try?

I've only been to Kauai once.  Went to several breaks in Poipu and it was pretty gnarly and crowded.  Then I made the drive and looked at Tunnels on the other side of the island and decided not to take my life in my hands.  All in all, not a good surfing experience, but the island is so wonderful that I didn't care all that much.   Wife and I had a wonderful time and look forward to going there again.

Maui is the place to go for some mellow waves.  I've had a blast at Kanaha.  Gets really windy in the summer so you have to hit it early.  I've had a blast windsurfing there too.

Kauai and friendly (to SUP) are not always words that go together. 

October is getting into the winter season - so the north shore will be getting bigger and wilder.  South end would be mellower.
Just be nice and play well with others.  Wait your turn, wait some more, and then wait a little longer and it might be good to go.
