Central, North Nicaragua. Puerto Sandino, Miramar

Hi has anybody SUS'ed these waves?  I believe they are both left points, seem hollow, fast at times.  I'm bringing an 8'10" Mana. Just curious how this board will do, most problems will probably be operator error i'm sure.

Just saw this. Hope any advice isn't too late for your trip.
I've prone-surfed both places. From my experience, Sandino would be a tough SUP break. It's a great barrel, but it's a small takeoff spot and it's crawling with aggressive surfers as soon as the tide turns (low tide only). You could get there early and ride it when it's less than than ideal, or sit out on the shoulder and catch waves from those closed out by the barrel. Can get kind of windy 'cause it's far offshore.
Miramar, on the other hand, would be a great SUP wave through much of the tide. It can be pretty soft and lined up when it's not low tide; at low tide it starts to crank. And of course, with size it gets a bit more serious.
There are some other breaks in the area, particularly to the south of Miramar, if you have a local guide or contact who can help you find them.

cool thanks! we are locked in for end of july and I'm bringing my shortboard also for Puerto Sandino, looks hollow. Hoping to score on the sup, this is my primary objective!

We ended up hooking up with a surf camp on miramar point, this is the first time I havent rented and toured on my own.  Leaving that up to them this time, something different but looks like it will be a blast.

Oh, you'll score, for sure. Good move taking your short board as well as your SUP (I've done that; just stick them both in the same bag). That way you'll have everything covered. And I bet your camp will be able to steer you to some other SUP-happy spots. Have fun.
