Hey spirit4:

Not to confuse you further, but....

Just b/c an iSUP can be deflated, doesn't mean you WILL deflate it.  I leave mine inflated all the time.  I'm guessing you will too.  Rolling it up is a bit clumsy, and inflating the Red's to full PSI takes a bit of effort.  It's more convenient to just leave it inflated and toss it around in your SUV or car's rooftop.

As such, keep in mind your physical size (5'4", right?).  Lugging around an inflatble 10'6" might be a pain.  The 10' or even 9'6" might be more enjoyable/manageable out of the water.  I'm 5'7" male, and the 9'2" can even be a bit of a PITA if a long walk from from parking lot to water's edge, especially if windy.

The glide on  the 9'2" is fine... good enough for putzing around in flatwater.  I'm sure the 9'6' or 10' Red would suit you well and might be more manageable to transport/carry than the 10'6".

More food for thought.  Whatever you buy, I'm sure you're going to love it.   ;)

You're so right!  I hadn't thought of that....I really need to see one of these boards inflated.  Do the 10' and 9'6 have D-rings to tie down the nose when on the roof rack?  If I lived right by the water, a 10'6 might be fine, but until I move to the coast, I have to drive to the lake or river.

Not sure if the 9'6" or 10" have a D-ring but don't think you'd need one.  Most iSUPs are plenty stiff, no need to secure the nose.  It's not going to fly off like a mattress on the highway.

I transport my board on the roof of small SUV, secured w/ 2 cinch straps.  Highway speeds, no problem.  You can alwasy do an aftermarket glue-on PVC d-ring, but again, doubt it's necessary.

Julian, are the boards you have on sale now the 2013 boards?  When will you get the 2014s in stock?

@spirit4earth The boards on sale right now are the 2013 models we have left. We have the 2014 12'6 Race and 12'6" Elite. Next delivery of 2014 boards will be a month or two (approximately in line with summer season).

See what's on sale here: http://greenwatersports.com/on-sale

If you want to drive around with it on the roof for a long distance or higher speeds (but why? it's inflatable, just put it in the car, but if you can't), and are worried about the board flexing, put it with the tail forward and you can use the leash attachment D-Ring to tie it down to a forward point on the car somewhere. Also if it's tail first, it is usually mounted further back on the racks and less likely to get caught by the wind.
