New Fanatic Flat Water boards.....
« on: January 16, 2014, 06:56:40 AM »
Looks like Fanatic is adding some "flat water" shapes to complement it's "open" water race boards.

It ain't over until the fat board sinks....

Darn, still not a true flatwater board for us inlanders who don't get bumps where we paddle. I'll hang on to my 2012 Flatwater another year.

These are TRUE flatwater raceboards as the Falcon raceboards are open water raceboards Plus the Falcons are all adding tail width for bouy turns where a lot of sprint races are lost
The international team is carrying both. Those of us that have to PAY for our equipment now have 2 Viable options for Flatwater race boards

I saw a 12-6 Flatwater board at a race a couple weekends ago and it looked very good.

Raf from SOPOSUP rode one of the 12'6 x 24" carbon flatwater falcons in the race around Cushing island yesterday. I tried it for a couple minutes in the protected water by the beach afterwards and found it very tippy (rolly?) initially, but manageable, and super light and fast. I'd love to try the 14' model sometime.
