6 miler 8/27/07...
« on: August 27, 2007, 04:09:53 PM »
Did a 6 mile run this afternoon with my buddy Christian. Realy got a good pace going, and held it for most of the run. It's funny how captivated People on the Beach, and in the water are, as we pass by. It is as if they can not understand what it is we are doing LOL. I am gonna need a new board soon, I can tell. I got mine to be easy to learn on, and it is. It is long, wide, and thick (get yer minds out of the gutter LOL), and is great for cruising, but not realy good for Surfing. Oh well, still loving the Sport. Not much Marine Life out today. A couple of Dolphins, and a lot of baitfish, but that's it.

Russ,

I experience the same reactions from onlookers and witness all sorts of aquatic life during my paddles. Just earlier this morning we had 2-3 foot glass perfection. I had so much fun and this was one of the better sessions I've had on the waves to date. Kids were back in school, most of the regulars missed out on the waves. I shared my local break with two other prone surfers. The three and half hour session flew by. I must of caught 50 or so waves.   I watched bait get thashed by Spanish, who were getting devoured by some 4-5 foot sharks Spinners, Blacktips and Brown sharks (local in our area) rocketing out of the water slashing the fish. All only 200 yards past the waves.
This article appeared in out local paper about my Stand Up Paddling . Just wanted to share with all.    Mahalo

Nice article, and video. I have about the same, if not worse conditions as you do. Only Waves we see on a regular basis, are about knee high wind slop from the Tradewinds. But now I don't need waves to have a good time on the Water. Sup'n has filled to empty spot up nicely.
