addapost.... that was a cool use of a GoPro  ;D
I've often thought that GoPro's would be great for taking pics of other surfers....
Did you just pivot it a bit to the side?

I just figured I would aim it forward and point my board towards the peak.

Thanks for the shot... it came out so clear and crisp

and it continues --

5:30pm – 4/30/13 – Nauset Beach Report

What a spectacular night.  Right out in front of Liam’s, shortboarders were taking a pounding in head  / head + shore breaks.

SUP compatible swells just showing off shore.

2 whales feeding further out, no wind, no bugs, air clear and sweet smelling, sun warm on my back and a slight hint of coolness on my face.

Nothing special about the set-up. It was pointing at me but the lens is so wide angle that things off to the side show up. You are actually in the extreme lower right corner of the frame. I just cropped you out of the bigger pic. I want to shoot other surfers and I actually had a mount for my paddle with me out there but every time I was going to sit down and switch it over to the paddle another wave came in so it never got done  ;D
Bunch of old shit

thanks addapost.... I need to get a GoPro... I already have the shaft mount... it would be great to be able to take pics of others, while standing on the shoulder... that break would be perfect for it.

Got in a great 2 hour session at 5:30 am before the NE wind got on it.... only a few people out... forecast was onshore by 7...

At noon I picked my daughters up from college.... summer vacation!!!!!
It still excites me when school gets out ;D

#1 - Cropped cam view through the early morning haze....
"the early surfer gets the waves"... it was blown out by 8am

#2 - Such a pretty morning... I had to stop at a launch site and take a picture of perfect paddling conditions..... so many ways to play on SUP.... but... Surf always wins :-\

Sweet!....I heard there is a bunch or Right whales off the Cape now...boat speed restrictions in place.

I wish the waves were closer during my commute. I'm going to have to settle for lots of flatwater. I'm going to leave the 10-6 on my car so I always have a board with me.... ;D. Should be a good workout on the flats... ::)

On the plus side I should be getting my new board soon....lets get together.

Speaking of whales

I had to make a trip to Nauset today at noon, for work,  beleive it or not.  On the way down reliving the view of Tuesday night to my comrade another, anohter fantastic day of decent surf.  Add in a whale motoring by, clearly visable from the road just above the motel.

To make matters worse some guy was just toweling off after a sup session.

15 minutes of pleasure = an afternoon of a bad attitide.

Yeah Ron.... not to rub it in... but it was another perfect day today.

Day # 9 of great waves, no wind and sunny perfection.
I feel like I've been in a dreamland of perfect waves.

I took a few shots when I got to the beach today

#1 - is a proner friends daughter, ripping a left
#2 - my friend Jimmy V taking off on a left.

Wait, you got 15min of pleasure at a motel during lunch, but now have a bad attitude about it?  I'm confused.   :D

Well that didn't turn out right. no motel action!

15 minutes to check out the air compressors serving the ORV station.

A great week for sure Rick.

Windsurfing might be on tap for the afternoon.

Thanks Supthecreek for documenting this incredible swell! I lost track of how many sessions I got in, but the timing was great for me to try my new board; Watersedge 10' performance surf shape. I saw Creek ripping all week on his Fanatic Allwave, and believe me, he can really ride that thing. Looks like onshores for a few days so I'll rest up for a wind switch on Monday or so. What a week!

UPDATE - UPDATE - UPDATE

The swell kept going.... and going.... and going
Light winds - incredible conditions
Everyone bought new boards... and it kept going
I bought an 8'10 Allwave... and it kept going :D
I shortened my paddle to 1" overhead
I ate and ate and ate... and still lost 17 lbs during this run of surf - thanks primal

It may be over for a bit.... time to reflect and savor... and rest my sore body ;)

The Surf Gods have favored us for the past 2 months and I am grateful :-*

I do NOT remember a better stretch of excellent conditions in my 49 years of chasing waves.

If any of you NE SUP'ers have pictures of this epic run... please add them
