That time of year (ice)

Ice quickly forming at the local no coast spots. Time for the river!

Have a nice setup, paddle against the flow about 50 yards for a healthy workout, turn around for a rewarding fun 'surf' ride back, then repeat.

Going to start off with a Christmas session tomorrow morning.

It's better than nothing.

Did the river session on this happy Christmas morning. That was a nice gift to receive.

Ugh, wow starting to get out of shape, felt it today. See what happens after not paddling for 3 weeks. Never the less, it was fun.

Temps around 30 degrees and sunny, snow covered ground. Once moving got warmed up real quick. This run is over 100 yards, measured it today.

Well anyway first winter river session this season. Now it's off to the family thing.

Good stuff, Jim. Was up in Door County last week paddling Death's Door on my prone board.

Went out on Lake MI in Chicago north suburbs on my Javelin yesterday. Fun rides on some baby swells put a smile on my face. It was a little nerve racking to find a surf path inbetween chunks of ice.  And an icy deck added a bonus challenge to cross stepping to the tail.
