Looking again the Eagles claws get stuck on the draw string or some fabric . The kid kind of floats and twists. Real! Real enough.

Do we need to ban large capacity raptors?

If it is fake, it was well done, there are documented cases of larger eagles trying to take children.

Ah ha!  Proof that this video is fake, and that Ponobill probably writes for Wired under the pseudonym Rhett Allain.

The guy who wrote that article knows more about cameras than he does about birds.

-Camera analysis: is inconclusive.
-Physics analysis: I won't pretend to understand. Doesn't seem convincing.
-Bird analysis: He has no idea what he's talking about.

Not saying the baby video is real, but it certainly isn't disproven by that article.

Maybe we need the NFL Ref's to review this and call the play..they seem to be calling them right lately.....yeah right !!! Looked real to me at first and I wouldn't be shocked if it happened.

Those students have a bright future...pretty well done CGI...shadows, physics, etc...all seem pretty spot on to me. Only thing that was suspect to me was when the eagle turned in the sky to start his attack...too flat in the turn.

Yes we do. Also some more government regulations on raptors would help them for doing this in the future. I am pretty sure the raptor was reacting to a video he saw on youtube as well. Glad there was no cliff.

Got this from a blog I read this morning. I thought it could have been real because when I saw the child floating in the close up, I thought it could be due to a combination of forward momentum away from the camera and a talon catching on to a lace in the jacket.
I don't doubt the aggressiveness of birds in general. I was at Newport RI this summer, holding a sandwich in my hand when a seagull (skyrat), swooped down within 6 inches of me in an attempt to grab it. All of a sudden an Alfred Hitchcock scene unfolded around me as 8-10 birds surrounded me and started dive bombing me and my sandwich! Why couldn't they find their own clam or crab and just leave me alone? I immediately started running for my paddle that was situated on top of my board about 50 yards away. I hung on to my sandwich in my mouth and started swinging away with my paddle as I was getting a little nervous about this situation and the health of my eyeballs. Keep in mind that this was August and the beach was packed so it probably looked pretty funny.
I went back to my vehicle  and a guy who witnessed this told me that a week before, a seagull had swooped down and snatched a $15 dollar log sized lobster roll from a woman that just bought it and flew away with it
I wouldn't doubt that a bird this size in the video could pull off a stunt like this.
I like animals, but not seagulls in particular as they steal my food, steal my bait etc. instead of finding ther own. Years ago I remember a seagull dropping some type of shellfish on to a parking lot to crack it open. I looked over and there it was, like nature's raw bar beckoning me. I grabbed it before the bird and slurped it down. I don't remember what type of shellfish it was, but I do remember that it was delicious. Me 1- Skyrat-0
