I have not tried the TWCC (tough wood custom composite) or SCC (semi custom carbon), only the DCC (Double Carbon Composite), which is quite durable for very light construction.

The TWCC looks like the Naish or Starboard wood construction.

Good thing I took the price list home with me, here is the X12 (12'6) and X14 msrp:

X12 TWCC: $1899
X12 SCC: $2399

X14 TWCC: $1999
X14 SCC: $2499

SIC's construction is very solid! I too have the DCC construction, often built to be lighter, but still super strong and durable. I dont baby my Bullet at all, and it handles!! my prior naish boards can get dinged up much easier then SIC's construction

JF808:  can you estimate the weight of your bullet? Is it a 14 or a 17?

Robert: do you have any info on relative weight differences between the DCC, SCC, and the TWCC?
Any thoughts on the value vs price?  I'm thinking of the Naish AST vs Carbon value/weight/performance analogy...

Cory,

Ricky Styles @ High Traction Sports in Squamish in now the sales rep for SIC in Canada. Just found that out this week. Just not sure who will actually be the dealer.

Thanks!! Having some regrets about the upcoming sale of my F16. It just seems crazy to have a f16 and my newly acquired water logged Bark 17,6. Care to talk me out of it?

Just tested the SIC 14 Bullet on a medium to light gorge down winder. Three of us traded off between the 2012 Naish Glide, Jimmy Lewis M and the 14' Bullet. We were all are 150 lbs and under.
The Glide seemed to be the fastest and able to climb up over swell.
The 28" wide M was the most surfy and fun, least foot work.
The Bullet almost as fast , more foot work, might be better for a larger person.

Thanks for the reply! Very interesting results! I actually own a 2010 carbon 14 Glide (also for sale). I found similar results between it and my F16. The glide is way faster upwind and catches smaller swells down. Once the F16 is going, wow!

The 2012 Glide seems to address issues of the older model. Gorgebob, do you think it is a top contender for upgrade?

Cory,

didn't know you have an F16. I think I would sell the bark than the F16. Water logged? Yikes!  :o

So were back to the question of how much difference the weight of the board makes and if it's worth the money.   I think for the average user spending a lot extra to save a few pounds is not worth it but there is no doubt that lighter is slightly faster in racing unless it's very windy.  How much faster?  Not much faster but even just a tiny bit faster can give you the edge when racing.

For those that have not seen it, I did a weight/ speed test a couple years back with interesting results:
http://zenwaterman.blogspot.com/2010/11/is-lighter-really-faster-sup-weight.html

I got a PM requesting the 11'0 Bullet pricing:
11 Bullet TWCC: $1599
11 Bullet SCC: $2299

Neil, still trying to wrap my head around it lol. The bark is a far superior flat water board. The real reason I bought it. It also downwinds well, at least for the 1 time I have been on it! I bought it the day before round the rock and it felt heavy (great price). Raced it, afterwards leaked like crazy! Repairing time.

Robert, thanks for providing all the SIC info! By the way, the 2 downwind sups you sent recently to Vancouver look amazing.

Thanks for the 11 info.  Looks like I am selling my Fanatic to get one.  The whole waiting thing is what I can't stand.  Hope I don't fall for a new Falcon first.  Almost forgot, will they be at the BOP?

Great info - thanks BPS! I'm looking forward to seeing and hearing the differences in weight and on the water feel of the SBB and the TWCC constructions!

I'm thinking about replacing my 2010 12' Glide with the 14' Bullet. I love the surfy feel of the glide, but it plows so much in flat water - which is where I paddle 70% of the time. The 14' Bullet could be a real happy medium between a great downwind board and a pretty decent flat-water/distance touring board.
