San Diego area SUP surfing - meet some zoners?

Traveling to San Diego for business June 11-14.  Might have a few hours here & there to SUP surf in between meetings.  Staying downtown SD.  Would love to surf with some zoners at SUP friendly surf spots (Dogpatch, Cardiff?).  Also need SUP surf rental suggestions - where to rent.  Also, will 3/2 convertible wetsuit suffice?  Thanks!

It's boardshort season in So Cal now.  No wetsuit needed.  There was another thread just like this one a couple months ago...I'll see if I can find and link.

I wouldn't call it board short season just yet. Water is high 50s to low 60s right now. That said I wear board shorts and a 2mm jacket.

I should be around that time. Shoot me a pm and hopefully we can link up.

Cardiff Reef is a good place to find people to paddle (surf) with.

If you go up to Cardiff, see if you can use one of Joe Blair's boards. His shop is about a mile from the reef. You won't be disappointed.

If your really crunched for time, some of the shops in Pacific Beach and La Jolla rent boards.

Mitch's surf shop in La Jolla rents boards.  If you're doing dawn patrols you'll want a wettie.

Thanks everyone.  Pirates, I'll PM you closer to those dates based on forecast/conditions.  Sounds like I'll need to bring my 2mm shortie just in case....its easy to pack.  SlatchJIm, I think I found that other link you mentioned....it's in the Travel forum.  Thanks and I hope to get to paddle with some of you zoners out there.

Thanks for all the helpful tips but unfortunately my trip got cancelled.  I look forward to getting out to San Diego another time to SUP.
