« on: April 21, 2012, 03:04:24 PM »
Finally got around to welding up my storage rack for my SUP's today. Now all that's left is to sew up a cover to keep out elements.

I just put together two sets of plastic storage shelving from Home Depot today $38.00 each in my garage. I don't feel like dragging up my 14' Glide board along with windsurfing boards each time I want to go out from the basement. It's perfect, 72" high, 36" w, 5 shelves at 18" deep. At the end of the season I can put everything in the basement for the winter.

I'll take some pics when I get a chance.

Here is the rack system I'm using this summer. The second shelf is reserved for my new SUP coming in this week.

Good idea Weed. I own those same shelves for garage stuff in Florida, but never thought of them as a surf rack, but they make a pretty easy solution to storing boards along with other stuff.
Hobie Raw 8'10"
Jimmy Lewis Kwad 8'7"
Naish Hover 95 liter 5'7"
F-One Rocket foil board 5'5" 90 liters
Fanatic Aero 1250, 1500, 1750 HA foils
CabrinhaMantis 3.5, 4m 5m. F-One Strike 7m CWC
Hobie 14' race board

Yeah, I was going to make some racks out of wood but that would have been a hassle if I needed to move them. This way I can just slide them out of the way. I put the gas containers on the bottom for added weight. In my area, Cape Cod, they are on sale at Home Depot for $38.00 ea. this week. I guess the racks usually sell for $45.00 ea.

OK ... so...the priorities go like this...

$1,700 suP  gets the rack AND the garage...
$30,000 suV  gets the driveway

I LIKE it ;D

Maybe that's because it wouldn't be good for the SUP to get wet in the rain.

Rick,

The SUV is an inanimate object. The SUP, well that's different. A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. I'll just call it, weeding out my priorities.

That really is a nice great rack... damn...good looking board holder thingy.

Now that is some nice looking WS boards - nice colourscheme
Do you have more info and pics of them? - look like the top one is a thruster?
