I hate when that happens

Planned on getting out today at low tide. I was working from home, had stayed up late last night working so I'd have time today. Then I got into a creative groove and lost track of time. Suddenly realised I was losing my window at 2:30 (had to get back by 5:00). Dropped what I was doing...truck was all pre-loaded with all my gear...jumped in and drove to my local break. Pull into the parking lot and see nice clean thigh to waist sets rolling in. As I'm getting suited up I'm watching all these fun waves coming in....very stoked. Jump in, paddle out.....WTF...SOMEBODY TURNED OFF THE WAVE MACHINE!!.... .

This spot doesn't work very often and when it does it usually takes low tide to happen. It must have been really nice while I was working.... I managed a couple of short rides on my 9er, then had to switch to the 12-6 for any ride at all. Only good thing..about mid tide the beach break starts to work so I switched back to the 9 and caught a bunch of one turn rides. I like playing in the whitewater to or  crusing parallel to the beach just riding the edge of the waves...if one looks good it's one hard stroke and a lean and your on.

Headed out tomorrow....going to catch the tide though for sure.

At least you didn't have to drive 800 kilometers

Wind will be offshore tomorrow... maybe some leftovers. We still had a swell at dusk.
