A few confirmation shots (note the same surfboard and telltale haircut) from Jeff Clark's Mavericks Surf Shop on Facebook.

Let the sheep be sheep.  Didn't see many of them out this morning at my NW spot... two to be exact.  Jeff Clark is such a kook!  Why doesn't he surf big waves by himself... laying down... instead of always surfing in crowds... and now on an SUP... oh wait...

Remember guys, people are sheep, they can't think for themselves.
If you say so, it must be true.   ;D

Actually, this photo reminds me a bit of lemmings jumping off a cliff--mainly because I'd be dead for sure if I tried following those guys.  Ironically, lemmings don't really follow each other blindly and jump off cliffs.  It's a myth that humans have blindly accepted because somebody said it once.  So humans act like lemmings but lemmings do not.

Why is this wave even in the XXL thing anyway. I think it is more of a XL than a XXL. It might of been a XXL day but that wave looked to me like one of the inbetween waves.  Some of the guys did not even move it looked like.  The wave looked great and they both had a nice drop but the XXL thing is up for debate.

I am truly humbled and flattered, but that guy is a bit older and wiser than I am.  I was surfing the left up the beach that day since the Paparazzi was thick at Mavericks.  I am not as comfortable weaving the pack on crowded days.  There are only a few people that it could have been so I did a little research and figured out it was the godfather himself – Jeff Clark.

My word, that makes the whole thing infinitely more hilarious. As far as I'm concerned it's IMPOSSIBLE for Jeff Clark to drop in at Mavericks. Everyone else is a guest.

Let them hate, then it keeps the haters from becoming SUP'ers.  We don't want hater SUP folks anyways because the more they hate and talk the less likely they will ever SUP for fear of eating CROW.   ;)

I love the irony in this one.  Just classic.

Jeff was clearly in the wave first and they weren't in each other's way anyhow.  There's no way either one of them could have backed off after committing; that's just how big wave surfing works.

I have found in bigger waves you try and be cool and back out of waves to let people go and they don't catch it, or they back out not going for it. After that happens a couple of times ya get frustrated and I usally tell em as i paddle for the next one let me know if you catch it. Because I'm going.

uhm, yeah, it's Jeff  on a small one with Savannah.  Independent of the disrespect to Jeff, Billabong should be shamed into retracting this hate spam.

maybe they are too busy trying to survive financially and some intern hacked their FB acount??

This is similar to the Rusty add, spreading ill will against a surfing sport, and if there is a responsible professional @ Billabong,  they should see that this is retracted.

PS...Pono just hit em' on Facebook.

Well, it was a gentle whack. Stupid of them to bait comments by leading the hater pack. Who do they think is buying their stuff? And just too perfect that the "knucklehead" turns out to be The Man.

I love Clark's quote, in Riding Giants, talking about being a freshman in high school saying to his buddy, "Brian, we gotta go check that out. We'd sit up on a cliff and watch this place go and one day it was like, Brian...today's the day." So classic!

That was 1975. Savannah was born 1990ish (nothing against her...just perspective).
