Love them!  Have worn Rainbows, Reef and many others including the $.99 shower slaps.  Hands down the most comfortable, long wearing slaps I've owned.  I don't leave them alone on the beach or docks though as they are not cheap and would be an easy grab for the less than honest.

Hmmm......mixed reviews.  My O'neil's need to be replaced, so maybe a back up pair of Reefs or Rainbows in case they fail.  Like Socal says, you an never have too many. ;D

Always nice to support companies that support what we do. Olukai and Rainbow both show the love. I 100% agree you cannot have to many pairs of flip flops!

PS I have  a pair of Rainbows that are still going strong and were bought in 96.
Of course I do live in the Pacific Northwest....

I use my reef openers pretty frequently, but it's partly for the shock effect. New O'Neil Superfreaks come with a bottle opener/fin key that looks like it might also center-punch a testicle or find it's way to the femoral artery in a serious spin cycle. Still, a tasty bit of hardware.

No, seriously.......$150 for a pair of sandals?

I thought $40 for my Rainbows out of their outlet store was steep.....dayum, now I'm gonna go get me a couple more pairs at those "bargain" prices.   :o ::) ;D

Not three days after I posted about how my Olukai sandals were trash, the one of the toe straps connecting to the foot bed gave up the ghost and tore, while at a birthday party for one of my son's friends.

Karma I guess.  I bought slaps at GAP for $3 that lasted longer.

Nice sandals but i think the heal might be IP...   ;D

I've been wearing Rainbows since they were the first company that came out with boat shoe bottoms.  They're kind of addictive after a while.

When traveling I pick up a standard slap, made thoughout the less developed
world from recycled car tires.  Alittle tough between the toes at first, but they cost
less than a buck.

OK, so a couple weeks ago I found myself surfing with a really nice guy (and excellent surfer) out around "Nukes", who has a very close connection with one of the co-founders of Olukai, and was gracious enough to give me a very nice discount card for 50% off of a couple pair of web ordered Olukais

With that, I broken down and purchased a pair for myself and another pair for the wife.

Well, all I can say is Dayum!!.....these have to be the most comfortable sandals I've ever worn!

Purchased the "Kia'i" model, wanting something more water friendly than leather, and their "Wet Sand Principle" of anatomically contoured footbeds that give the feeling of bare feet in wet sand are remarkable.

Not to mention the wider toe area that keeps my Sasquatch wide foot from hanging my toes over the side, like they sometimes do on occasion with my Rainbows.

Not sure about spending full $80 on another pair when these wear out, but hopefully that will be quite some time from now and I'll just have to start saving my pennies in a Sparkletts bottle.

That is, unless you folks would like to start contributing to the "Keep PC In Olukais Fund" which I'll be setting up soon....PM me for details.   ;) ;D ;D

Great sandal, so happy I took the plunge!!

Dang. I knew you guys had money.  But $70 for flip flops???? I have never found a pair of "cheaper" flops that didn't feel comfortable (I'm talking like $12 on sale rack).  Can't really see how the $70 model could be any more comfortable????

Some people need a taller arch to walk comfortably. A lot of people love their Olukais, they don't fit me right, I find Reef Mick Fannings work better for me.

Arched sandals are more comfortable than flat by far, especially for
walking a ways.  Probably gotta give out 40 bucks or more for a decent
pair.  Reefs are comfortable from the get go, and thanks to Bill I'll give
my rainbows another chance.  I guess along with my 3 cheap flat pairs
I could have had one pair olukais.  But then I wouldn't have had enough.

After spending 15 hours straight standing on concrete selling glass sculptures I really appreciated the arch support. Though by the end I was really wishing for a bit more padding as well. I might have to look into some nicer sandals. Fortunately with the weather in Oregon I get quite a few years use out of them before replacing them so some expensive ones aren't too bad once I deprecate them over 3-5 years.

Ive owned a few pairs of Ocean Mindeds, and loved them all. Also loved my rainbows I had back in the day. Anyone else on the Ocean Minded bandwagon?
