No. A few sneakers came by but nothing overhead-few shoulder-head high.
Hopefully swell filling in tonight.
Going dawn patrol to check it out.

It's hitting Ventura it picked up this evening doubled in size from this afternoon. Sets are about 10 minutes apart. Still had some funky wind chop on it.

The local weather is saying surf advisory will end tomorrow at noon. Moving South so you guys should have it all day tomorrow. I'm trying to work out an afternoon sneak away from work to check it out.

Cowboy... that's the first little swell... the big one is on Friday.

I will be on it tomorrow at Venice jetty (the left on the North Side) at dawn as I have business in Santa Monica at 8:30.

Peace,

Tim

Yep,

StrandLeper is right.  Two swells.  First one now, the big one on Friday.  I'll see whether I'll brave it on a prone board or just break out the telephoto to capture my youngest brother shredder.

I'm looking at your Friday swell out my window. I can tell when Jaws is going off by the way the island looks--it's getting thumped.

For perspective, those little ripples around the rock island are about 2.5 miles away. The top of the island is about 35 feet above sea level.

Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

PonoBill--can you see the results of any of this weekend's NFL games yet from your place?  How about any interest rate changes?

Check surfline. The mavs wave video on the NorthPac feature is terrifying. 3 or 4 guys caught in it and just get pummeled.

I see now that there are 2 and maybe 3 in this run. I'm trying to weigh the shoulder condition. Maybe I'll go play on the way up or down to get my feet wet again. Hard to pass up summer conditions and a winter swell.

Yikes, it's still building. Big corduroy off to the horizon. Don Shear's helicopter just buzzed the house twice, a good indication that stuff is happening at Jaws. Either that or he's trying to figure out what the hell the jeep is doing in the driveway instead of at the beach.  I'm going, I'm going, just need to get the knee brace. And maybe some brave pills.

No help on the stock market or interest rates PDX. The only way I can influence the market is to invest, and then it plummets.

That swell about to hit the island looks tow times higher than the car, and the car is two miles nearer. Let's see, mathematically we could take the car height is Hc times car distance Dc is half a mile and then wave distance Wd 2.5 miles  So 2(Hc/Dc) = Hw/Dw = BFW  (Big Fricken Wave)
