newton ~ i looked at Trident website.  looks like PR only comes in candy, wood, silver, brushed carbon.  but others may know better.  im gonna order a 2011 PR in blue (discontinued in 12) shortly.

Hi guys,

Looks like the 2012 PR will be absolutly sick.
More rocker, same nose, round pin tail, quad or 2+1 fin setup...
I have a 2011 Brushed Carbon PR and I have to admit I am considering an update to the 2012 model just to get the round pin tail...

On the other hand, I may just get the 8'0" and 8'5" Pros...

By the way,

I just forgot to mention that the new PR will loose the trademark wing or bump (call it what you like)!!!

johnny -  what does "improvements" more rocker and rounded tail to 2012 PR mean for performance?  still good for smaller mushy stuff?

I was at the HB Pro yesterday and held the 2012 8.5 Pro Wave Brushed Carbon - I'm in love!  I believe I saw a Starboard 7' 7" x 27" x 4" Pro - is that a new model or was it custom for the competition?

The 7'7" x 27" is Zane's pro model.
It will be available in the AST Silver or Brushed Carbon for 2012.

Yes - the 9'5" Widepoint is a 4+1 set up.

That's what the dealer guide and catalog says...but, the one that I rode was only a thruster setup...
It was one of the approval boards...so, the production version may have quad option...our Stoke and Stoke Wide have the quad option and it really helps to loosen this size board up...I tested them side by side...back to back...

Does anyone know what board Dave Muir is riding at the HB Pro? He looks pretty big.

I'd also like to know the volume of the new boards. The 9'5" Wide Point looks like my next thing, but weighing close to 180lbs and also planning on using the board on flat water with my Jack Russel also on it, I hope it's around 170-180 liters.

Also, anyone seen what next years brushed carbon will look like? The current BC is visually not exactly up my alley.

It is 9'5" x 32" x 4.3"  155 L
Looks great - but not really meant as a flat water w/ dog board.

Thanks for quick response.

Guess you're right tho, doesn't seem like the all rounder I was secretly hoping for. I have been using the Whopper this season, and I'm fairly happy with it as a board I can take with me everywhere to do most. So for next season I'm looking for a board that possibly would have a bit better glide and tracking than the whopper, but also a bit more volume and about the same stablity, and still perform ok in 2-4 feet waves.

Guess I'm asking for too much in a single board...
