Hi, I'm going around these types of topics trying to promote my product called the Surf Camera (www.SurfCamera.com) and thought I would fit in with this discussion.
This case will mount to any wetsuit or vest and will fit any of the waterproof Pentax or Olympus cameras.
Your wetsuit will not leak in anyway after attaching this product and its very simple to setup.
I have a new review of the Pentax vs. Olympus cameras on my store: http://www.surfershot.com/view-item.php?id=25 . It is not a bias apinion.

I do this on my shortboard but I can see this as a great tool for sports with only one free hand available like paddle & kiteboarding.

Also the Sanyo camera is not good for surfing because you have to flip out the viewer, rotate it, angle it and then aim at your subject. In surfing it's too late for the shot after all that.
Both the Pentax & Olympus have the same 640x480 at 30 fps video as the Sanyo and they are one solid peace ready to shoot vs the Sanyo (and did I mention way more compact.)

Anyways give the Surf Camera case a try (only 42 bucks-free shipping)

G'day All,

This is my first post on "the zone".....

I bought the Digital Hero for a trip to PNG last year for exactly the reason Pono Bill says, they are super cheap and do an OK job, I thought if it got stuffed or stolen on the trip I wasn't going to be too worried.
I was pleasantly surprised with the pictures and videos it took but it is limited depending on the light both if too bright or too dull and you have to get up close to your subject.

On Sunday I put some freshly charged batteries in to take it for a paddle and within a few seconds smoke started rising out of the battery cover and melted the side.  It is still under warranty and will hopefully be resolved.

IMO it is good for the price but if you can afford to spend a little more you will be more satisfied with the results.

Heres some snaps from the trip.

I've used the Sanyo Xacti for a while now and it's been great....no problems (yet...saw the other posts...yikes). I'm hoping they come out with HD version next year. The 6 megapixel stills are great....just not a good zoom for long range shots. I haven't used it SUP'ing yet but it's been great while windsurfing. Thanks to Tom Tom for the helmet cam mount idea....I took it and ran with it...had to improve it a bit by shortening the boom....check out the videos and pics I've taken with it:
