Got a SUP... so stoked!!
« on: March 26, 2008, 04:17:45 PM »
Thanks to everyone for ideas and suggestions.

This evening, I bought a 3 times used, Laird, 12'1 w/ C4 paddle,  pad, fin, leash; in pristine condition for................... 900 bucks!!

I was so close to getting a custom but the deal seemed too good to pass up. I realize I may not surf it forever but I'm really excited and looking forward to some of the races in FL this summer.

Best to all.

First off welcome to the board and congrats on the Laird.  I too am a FL guy and wondering what races are you talking about in FL?  I too would be interested.

Hey Moto. I really liked looking at the PSH's but I couldn't pass up this deal.

I was talking about the Watermen's Challenge that they usually have in Cocoa Beach in June. They usually have prone paddleboard races and they've had SUP's the last year or two. Always a good time. Do you ever check paddleboards.com? They typically have the prone schedule which now often includes SUP.

Also thinking about doing "Stand Up for Bleeding Disorders".. my 4 year old has hemophilia... and paddle the length of Brevard County in the waterways to raise money. Would you be interested? Would love to get the paddleboard community behind this. If I hear of any more, I'll post. Look foward to meeting you.

Good price for an all-rounder! I don't generally do flat water SUP, but like the idea of a Brevard run for bringing attention to disease (especially those effecting children). We often forget how blessed we are to be able to surf - why not give a little back? Honestly, I would prefer an ocean run, but... On a side note, I bet your buddy Shreaded misses the discourse!
