I'm digging this.

If anyone has had a chance to ride one, please post up some comments.

Enero 19 - 24. . Orange 5.0 Swing (which turned out to be too big) so  borrowed Ensis 3.5, and Wasp 4.0 on subsequent days.

Iíll be back towards the end of next week- still working on my jibes, but hopefully can keep up with Kiko and the rest of you guys a little better.

This whole COVID thing has messed up my travel schedule.

I'm guessing you don't have any windsurf or kiteboarding experience but are a long time surfer.

If that's the case, and you surf equally well back and front side, I would think riding toe-side will be easier than riding heel-side on your weak side, but eventually you want to be able to switch your stance - so you're probably better off sticking it out through that learning stage.  Eventually, that toe side advantage will probably help with your jibes.

Biggest thing to make things easier: Once you are able to go and return to the same spot, try to go out on days with plenty of wind using your smaller wing.  Those big wings are harder to learn to foil on because it is too easy to dip a tip. (My biggest wing is a 5m - don't like big wings - there is a point of diminishing returns).

Other things to try - move mast forward, try a larger foil, change the width of your stance.  Change only one thing at a time so if there is an improvement or setback you know specifically what caused it.

Boy, I got cold just looking at that.

My little quiver of wings consists of a 5.0 Strike and a 3.5 Ensis.

The Strike is a little stiffer than my old Swing, but can still be a tiny bit spongy when pumping.  The Ensis is much stiffer.

The lightness of the F-ones is still there in the Strike. There is very little flutter on the Strike like there was on the Swing.

Some of the Strike's stiffness could come with its recommended pressure of 9 PSI (versus 6 PSI on the Swing).  I'm a little concerned about durability with that pressure...

The 3.5 Ensis feels heavier than the 5.0 Strike.  Mind you, I haven't weighed them so I don't know if it *is* heavier, but that Strike is super light feeling.

I thought I wouldn't like just two handles, but I do.  They are in the right location for me - your mileage may vary. On the other hand, I feel my back arm gets more tired on the Strike than on the Swing.

The Strike goes upwind *much* better than the Swing, so does the Ensis.

I don't like the long handles on the Ensis - they are too close to the strut and my knuckles get scratched up.

The Strike flips upside down when falling just like the Swing does.  The added dihedral does not seem to make it much worse. The Ensis stays right side up more often.  The Strike goes side to side (wobble) less than both.

My perfect wing would have the stiffness and power of the Ensis, the handles of the Cabrinha, the weight of the Strike or Swing, the stability from the front handle of the Strike and would make me ride like Kai Lenny the minute I laid my hands on it.

I don't jump (yet), so can't comment on air time.

My background is in design and engineering.

Armstrong is best in terms of quality and materials.

As far as how they ride, Iíve only had Naish  and Armstrong. Armstrong is easier, more ďflowyĒ and even faster for me. Speed will depend on the sizes and rider level.

Iíve never ridden Axxis, but that red looks cool.

A crappy rider will ride a top of the line foil worse than a top rider on a crappy foil - so for me (being average at best) the focus is on ease of use and materials more than whatís going to be faster or ride Jaws better. Iíll let Kai worry about getting the last 1% in performance out of his gear.

Hereís my last time out from that same spot...

PR really is the best place to visit.
Surf, wind and warm water, plus many off the water activities, great food and a fun atmosphere.
Canít ask for a better time.
