When you get it right it feels slicker and faster than a regular duck gybe to me. Its a tweaked duck gybe
Clip laying down a few alternate tacks and tweaks https://www.instagram.com/tv/CHQno5jjkeo/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Sorry for the head spinning orientation Proceed as if you are going to do a 360 then just as you are about to backwind tumble the wing over your head. The wind will take it. Wish I had a clip from a viewers perspective. The Gong clip shows it perfectly. 3

Interested to see these. Have been doing them for sometime for heel side to toe side gybes. They are a really speedy, powered way to gybe. Feel really fluid when you get them dialled. Never seen one documented before.

Interesting to hear about this. Have had this happen a fair few times when pushing hard upwind. Sometimes it is possible to de power quickly and stay on foil but if you don’t react quick it’s usually game over. Always wondered what was going on as there was no wing tip breach. Thought I must be breaching the stab but this makes more sense. Really helpful to know. Thanks

Daswusup, I now your pain. I am riding in boots all the time, which makes the strap issue more technical. The man up comment was not aimed at you bro. It was aimed at myself

This is a conundrum I am still trying to work out. I primarily ride heel side, toe side with my front foot strapped all the time. I move my rear foot a lot for board control. I hate standing on a rear strap and also don't like a rear strap set too far back. I would like to start learning to jump. The answer I am presently trialing is a rear foot hook, with the open end facing forward, but would like the strapped in feel of a rear strap for confidence. I don't think there is a simple answer here apart from man up and get on with it?

Foil SUP / Re: Mast position fore/aft on the fuselage. Care to speculate?« on: February 14, 2021, 05:44:26 AM »
Thanks Fishman. Just be careful, the Gong Kite fuse has a short front spigot which is not long enough to take the Rise,Curve or Veloce wings. It would need machining which would make the fuse body even shorter than it already is.

Hi Thatspec. The kite fuse was around 8cm shorter than the regular fuse plus it would only take kite foils not surf foils. I no longer have it to give you an exact measurment of its length.
It should be possible to mod a Gong fuse to take an Axis wing. I did a mod on a Neil Pryde Glide fuse. It works well 9

It looks like Gong are no longer producing the convertor fuse as it is no longer listed on their website ☹️

Think the pics are of a Kite fuse I did the mod on which is shorter in length but sure you get the idea. Sorry pics came out so large. There are more pics on my Instagram account chrislucas735 if you are interested.😀

This was how I made my Gong/Axis convertor if it’s any help. I used a stock Gong Hellvator to Allvator convertor fuse which has a large rectangular slot already milled in it. It was just a case of machining a custom doodad and drilling and countersinking a couple of holes in the fuse. It moves the Axis mast approx 5mm forward of the Gong mast. Works really well. Think Gong are now out of the convertor fuses as so many people have made the mod. It would not be too difficult to make a custom fuse. I am currently getting one made to allow me to run GoFoil foils on my Axis mast. Hope pics are helpful. Cheers. Chris

Really like the look of the boards and the dimensions. Tempted by the 5’4 primarily for SUP foiling. 👍 Thanks for the info Jacko 13
