Hi SUPvol. Like Creek I live on the Cape.

In my humble opinion the Cape isn't worth a trip up from where you are considering you have closer access to similar spots with warmer  waters. At least not for the summer beach and hiking experience as you state. That said, if you were into bicycling and wanted to do weekday trips to the Vineyard, Provincetown and Boston then I'd say go for it. That would add some great variety, exercise and history to your travels. And of course pray for waves during your stay.

Mayer has been mentioned a few times here but is worth doing again. If your experience with John Mayer is his early 2000's top 40 bubble gum hits like "Your Body is a Wonderland" and you are not familiar with his more recent blues-based work, you are in for a treat. He is one of the best modern blues guitarists we have right now, outrageously talented guitarist.

John Mayer gets a bad rap for some past indiscretions and unappetizing pop songs.

But for those wiling to journey past the veil just a little bit the guy is an amazing artist.

I am a bit biased tho as he has helped to revitalize most of the surviving members of my favorite band of all time (the Grateful Dead) to present as Dead & Company.

Today I hop on Summer Tour with my friends: Fenway>Fenway>SPAC>Citifield>Camden

I will be forever grateful to one John Mayer who has set his ego aside, is learning from his elders and letting the music play the band!

A brief review of that CL link and someone is looking for a live in aide. You can't get much more ideal for your needs and more watery than that.

Spirit, I hope you are enjoying the cool weather and being the lone tourist on CC. Come Friday our roads will be swarmed with NY, CT and Quebec plates. Surfing with the Great Whites with a chum suit on might be the safer bet  ;).

Hey Spirit. I don't have any logistical data or fiery wisdom to share just that I'm with ya (and I'm sure others are) in err, spirit. May the four winds blow you safely home. Wherever that may be. I'll be interested in following your venture.

Damn Stoney. That stinks. Glad your soul sack stood up to the blow.

At least you weren't locked and loaded with SUPs.

This I believe to be certain. Nothing maintains and compounds their disdain like constant vigilance. Where the **** are we going with all this!?

Enjoying The Tedeschi Trucks Band lately. Derek Trucks is the  nephew of recently passed Butch trucks from The Allman Brothers, and played with them for a while. His wife is the lead singer Susan Tedeschi .  He's a great slide player, and here is their cover of "Everybody's talking" by Harry Nilsson. It's nothing like the original and really showcases their talent

Two thumbs up! One of the best bands/live bands out there. Susan with her raspy rocker/blues range. Derek with his endless talent (which I wish was showcased a bit more in extensive jams). Mike with his soul chops. Oteil (also of Allman Bros and Dead & Co) slapping on bass. And the backing band members with their gospel harmonies. Add some very solid dual drumming and horns and that's what I call a BAND!!

I try not to miss a show within reasonable distance. FYI - they are about to release a new live album or just did. http://ultimateclassicrock.com/tedeschi-trucks-band-live-fox-oakland-film-album/
