I'm from Portland, Maine and new to SUP this year. I plan on making some trips to MA this summer for some SUP action, hopefully I can meet up with some of you during those trips.

if anybody is at least a little bit handy with basic tools, then you can make a balance board pretty simple and for a fraction of the price to buy one from a company

I was an aggressive skater for years and grinding handrails and everything I could find took it's toll, especially my wrist the very first time I jumped on a handrail and my feet came out from under me, it still sprains easy if I get tweaked a certain way.

I'd be more worried about the beating it would take getting thrown around. If my luggage anytime I fly is any indication as to what my board would like after traveling, then I'd rent a board when I got to where I was going.

just puts a SUP rack on your wall and you'll be all set storing any size board. That's what most people do that have apartments including myself.
