I agree with bodysurfers, bodyboarders and skimboarders owning The Wedge, no one else need apply. the skimboarders are only in the mix with the others for a short duration and the watermen/women there have a higher awareness of their surroundings then most breaks. I hate saying it but it's really up to them to police that break, it's the exception, not the norm.

edit an existing post of yours, I ask here only because I don't want to clutter up the classifieds and figured I'd get a faster response. I'm not seeing any option to modify once it's posted.
Interesting, in here I see the option to modify but my post in the classified does not have that option...

A husband and wife were killed today when a standup paddle board came off a car and smashed through the window of their car. Their 2 children in the back seat were badly injured when the car ran off the road. Police arrested the driver of the other car for negligent homicide . The driver said he was sorry !! You were luck to get off with a $200 ticket and damaged board !!
I dunno, smells an awful lot like troll in here

C B Good for you brother !! How old is your son?? He's 9 and seems pretty receptive to the idea of going primal but this is a kid that orders raw broccoli instead of fries when we go out to eat. Hopefully it stays that way but the wonderful teen years are just ahead. (not sure if the sarcasm translated in that last sentence.) dinner was Fennel/Garlic/Sweet Onion sauteed in a little coconut oil then tossed in some grape tomatoes and some chopped up chicken breast, and a side of broccoli and red peppers, was so good!

So my wife and son and I started our primal lifestyle change today, received The Primal Blueprint last night and read through it together, breakfast consisted of coffee with a little heavy cream and greek yogurt with raspberries. Lunch is a couple of hard boiled eggs, some macadamia nuts and a smoked salmon filet (wild pacific, couldn't find wild alaskan at Sprouts) with a glass of water. I think I'm on the right track here but any criticism/confirmation from any of you pros would be great also, our biggest hurdle right now is our son, how do we get him away from grains, particularly bread for his lunches, not sure what I can give him instead and some quick and easy ideas would be great!

Sorry Fro but i agree with madmax, that article is BS and seems written by a proner.
Look at all the "Kool" choices, they involve not sharing the lineup with fellow surfers but rather ostracizing yourself to the outside, and even then you better only take a few of those waves because god forbid you catch more than your "share". What is our quota anyways, i keep asking god to give me a number as i pull up to a spot but i get no reply.
And if you have the nerve to surf in the lineup then you best only take leftover inside crap or just "paddle around".
That list is as big a joke as this whole proner vs. stand-up controversy is, a sport that perpetuates itself as being a "brotherhood that is one with the ocean" has some of the most hypocritcal, hate-mongering souls per square foot of ocean on both sides of the fence.

When discovery was made the scientists said they didn't want to get overly excited because they needed time to work through the data, it now looks like it may be one of two possible imposter particles and not the HB.
<jedi mind trick>"these are not the particles you are looking for"</jedi mind trick>

Brenden your second link is broken, that site doesn't use www just http://sharks-ocearch.verite.com/ and i'm a little dubious about that site, 3 sharks in the last 24 hours have pinged miles inland on rural highways which leads me to think that the dreaded land-shark is on the loose and moving northward

This was back in 91-92 and I was a parts driver for a car dealership, I was in a chevy S10 stakebed truck in the fast lane on the 5 freeway heading south, traffic was really heavy but moving very fast.
We were coming up on a shared onramp/offramp and the offramp was backed up with a line of cars. I look over and see this red Mitsubishi just screaming down the onramp trying to beat a line of cars in the slow lane when the guy driving it realilzes that the offramp is stopped, he panicks and yanks the wheel putting the car into a wide arcing 180 degree spin. This is the crazy part...he slides right through 4 lanes of heavy traffic, big rigs, a car hauler and and a whole mess of regular vehicles without hitting anyone...until he comes to a complete stop in the fast lane facing me head on.
I remember it like it was yesterday, I smashed into the front of him which pushed him into the center divider and spun him around then i smashed into the back of him. traffic slows and I sit there for a bit with bruised ribs from the seatbelt, then we decided to get the cars off the freeway and a guy in an older mustang blocks traffic for us.
We get to the side of the road along with the mustang driver, he was the witness and the old man in the Mitsu gets out and is all apologetic, "i'm so sorry, this is my daughters new car and i wasn't paying attention, it's all my fault blah blah blah". this was back before cellphones so we wait like half an hour and no cops show up, we decide to pile into the guys mustang and go find a payphone, during the ride we are all talking and find out that we all used to go to the same church and we all knew the same pastor "Pastor Cotton" known for his bushy white beard, after that the accident didn't seem so bad.
We found a payphone and called it in, we found out there was an officer at the scene waiting for us so we jumped back in and got back to the cars to find a pissed off cop talking about arresting us for fleeing the scene of an accident, we calmed him down and he took us aside 1 by 1 to get our sides, this is where crappy human nature takes over. When it came to be my turn and i explained what happened the cop gets this "yea, right" look on his face and tells me the old man says it happened differently, that he was in the fast lane the whole time and that I just rear ended him out of nowhere, I was pissed and seeing red now, i told the officer to talk to the mustang driver who told the cop the true story. Now the cop was pissed again and had a long talk with the old man. I was cleared and insurance took care of the damage but man talk about getting a dose of human nature reality.
