SUP General / Can you surf prone at dog patch.

Can you take a regular prone longboard out at dogpatch? I am looking to take a buddy with me who just longboards.

Training, Diet, and Fitness / The BIg Three

How many here do the big three:

Squat
Dead lift
Bench/Shoulder press

I just started doing workouts geared around these three lifts again with a friend who is a Trainer (crossfit style but more geared towards strength).

Just curious how many sup board riders do these lifts.

If not what are your main exercises you use to base your overall strength off of.

Gear Talk / The Orange County Board Recommendations

Hi guys,

I just moved back to Orange County, Ca from the desert and am looking to get into sup.  I have rented some big jimmy stick boards 12 ft. and have had a blast.  I have about 7 years of surfing experience and multiple surf boards. 

I am looking to cruise and surf and expect to get at least 2 boards to start with.  I want to get a big 11 or 12 footer as a fun board for the wife and as a loaner board for friends. I am also looking for a board I can grow into but still paddle on right away. .

Price is not a huge issue but I am looking at used boards because I have bought all my surf boards used and have been pleased.

Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated.
