Foil SUP / Re: Axis Modulus vs High Modulus Mast

Little update for you all. The high modulus made the shaking go away, just sucks that it cost $1500.

when I get into a good wave or a certain speed with the 1300 it feels like the whole entire board and foil have speed wobbles. It's actually terrible. Wondering if its the mast wiggling or me being a bad foiler. Couple of other people have tried my setup and noticed the wobble immediately.

Foil SUP / Axis Modulus vs High Modulus Mast« on: June 20, 2023, 03:56:04 PM »
Any reason why I need to spend the extra $300 for a high modulus mast vs the modulus mast? I weight 170 lbs and tow, wing, DW, SUP, and prone foil.

What would you guys recommend for someone who has a barracuda and a larger board at their disposal. Have lots of foil experience via efoil, tow boogie, and sup foil but hardly any experience riding switch and wing. Wanting to get into winging.

Foil SUP / Re: SUP vs hand paddles on barracuda style boards?« on: May 08, 2023, 06:44:56 AM »
My thinking would be if you wanted to prone you'll want the extra glide of the longer bigger board. Similar how to a 9' glides vs 12', the 12' seems to glide much better.

Wingsurfing, Windfoiling, Wingfoiling, Wing SUP / Re: Cutting down a 90cm Axis Alu mast AND potting a carbon mast head« on: October 28, 2022, 07:09:12 AM »
Little Update: I cut the mast down to 30" and the holes were drilled but not threaded. I used a fine tooth new blade on my chop saw and went very slow. It cut very clean and square. Took a small file to the interior and exterior edges to clean up any burrs and there were very few. Tapped the holes with a 8x1.25 tap and fluid. Once that was done I used caulk from the hardware store to seal up the main cavity as I hate how water just sits in there when I am done riding.
Hope this helps. 12

I am attempting this tonight....wish me luck. From what I have found online, the holes are drilled but not threaded all the way through. The mast's are fairly cheap so I am not afraid of ruining it for this project.
