Does this mean SUP is cool now?  ::)

I don't know, but Rob and the Rob Machado foundation deserve a big thanks for all the new trash cans installed on the beach at Cardiff.

I got to see Rob Machado in the water for the first time the other week, I have never seen anyone generate so much speed before! It was my first experience being out with a Pro in the water and it really shows the difference between the Pros and everyone else.

I saw that they released a new SLR like camera but the Lytro tech has been around for a while and the old cameras were significantly cheaper.

If you want to play around with it they have models as cheap as $199.

A buddy of my bought one and his conclusion was the same as SeaMe.  It was fun until the novelty wore off.

i haven't looked to see what is significantly different about this new camera.

It would be fun to have a large digital touchscreen picture frame on the wall that you could load the pictures on and scroll through and change the focal point of the images at will to suit your mood or time of day, or set it to scroll through your album and display each image with a random focal point selected.

Timex is more my price range, but found some sweet deals online for older model G-Shock and Shark Killers.

Same here, went with a freestyle Predator for $40, selling point was the fabric strap.  The rubber straps on my ironman watches deteriorated with exposure to sunscreen.

Might be a good time to bump the flip rescue thread from last year

Robcasey's link is gone but Tom posted a good vid of a technique for getting someone up on your board if they are in trouble/non responsive

Those are 33's, no lift in that pic but I'm running a OME 2.5 lift on it now.  The 80 series wheel wells swallow tires.  For the 80 series guys 35's are the standard with a lift, but 37's are quickly becoming the new normal.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the tips, CR was great we had a blast!  Didn't get to surf on this trip, on the days I had to surf it was pretty mixed up and didn't feel like going through the hassle of renting a board for medicore surf.  We still checked out a ton of places that you guys recommended.  Manuel Antonio was great, beautiful beaches, amazing wild life.  Took a boat tour out to tortuga island, that was a beautiful place to spend the day.  Hit up the zip lining, horseback riding, and water fall tours.  Driving was an adventure!  Now whenever I need to perform an aggressive driving maneuver I just tell myself to drive like a Tico!  It was a great trip.  We found almost all the people we talked to were great ambassadors for Costa Rica.  We'll be back again one day.

No, I don't believe that what we're seeing now is more unique than what past generations encountered, but because of our ability to get information instantaneously and everywhere that past generations were unable to do....has led us to the heightened "scary" factor, that the media has found "sells" quite well today.

The statistics seem to support that the number of these events are not increasing, we are just more aware of them now.
