Tried that same 9'6 ND demo a few days ago in some lumpy conditions at SanO and had such a fun session I just bought one when I returned it. Had it out again this morning and was even better, even as tide was coming in. Foot position and moving around on this board is taking some getting used to for me after riding mostly 8'7 to 8'10 boards but not a big deal. Amazed at how well it turns for a bigger board. Kind of the perfect board for SanO.

Having a similar problem with the vent plug on a Bark Dominator (2014) - slow bubbling from the side of the plug even when the board is cool. Went to take it out to check threads and try to reseat, but the diameter of the hole around the plug is too small to get a regular 15mm (or any size) socket in. Even tried an extra-thin-wall socket. Have done this many times with my surf sups but can't figure out what to use to unscrew this one. Emailed Surftech and Joe Bark but no response. Anybody know of a tool that would work for this?

... Bubbles are evil!
Here's another nifty gadget.
https://www.motionizeme.com/motionize-paddle-edge/
...
Will it work for SUP?
I mean the app features, will it count correctly for the SUP stroke?
Just noticed they have a SUP specific version now available: http://www.motionizeme.com/ Anyone using it?
I've been asked to test one so I'll let you know. The big stickler at first glance though is that I was told you can't store and do post paddle analysis of the raw data afterwards. Without that, it's going to be of limited value I would guess.
Too bad it doesn't keep the data for later analysis, but probably makes sense given the low price. Already getting most of this data from my Trace ( like distance per stroke and strokes per minute), but angle of entry and L vs R strokes per side would be useful.

Story update at: http://www.ocregister.com/articles/stand-732035-board-paddlers.htmlStand-up paddlers argue against injured surfer's outrage Oct. 13, 2016 Updated 12:22 p.m. By STAFF WRITER
The ocean is a playground to be enjoyed by everyone and surfing – no matter what board is used – comes with inherent risks. That was the argument from stand-up paddlers in response to a complaint last week by a surfer who was injured by what she originally thought was a stand-up paddleboard at Doheny State Beach prior to a three-day paddle event. Debbie Simons, who rides a longboard, said a paddler lost his board and it came plowing toward her. She put her hand up to stop the board from hitting her and her finger was broken. The issue brings up a subject of passionate debate – ocean use and regulations, and whether stand-up paddleboards should have restrictions or be grouped with traditional surfboards. While some stretches of beach regulate where SUPs can be ridden, boundaries can be vague, or are not always enforced. Other than Doheny State Beach and San Onofre, most areas of the coast don’t regulate the use of stand-up paddlers in the surf line. While some stretches of beach regulate where SUPs can be ridden, boundaries can be vague, or are not always enforced. Other than Doheny State Beach and San Onofre, most areas of the coast don’t regulate the use of stand-up paddlers in the surf line. There’s also some question of whether the board that struck Simons was, in fact, a stand-up paddleboard. Some witnesses say it was an inflatable prone board. A prone board can resemble a stand-up paddleboard but riders either lay on their stomach or sit on their knees and paddle with their hands, according to Stand Up Paddle Magazine editor Will Taylor...

what would be very interesting to do is to take say three boards out 1 at a time on the same day in the same session surf them see what you get in the same place. Did the wave speed vary form one set to another? is there a bug difference in speed from the fasted biggest wave in a set to smaller waves> Then try switching the boards same waves different sets slightly differ times and tides.. what happens? and as final test use one board. change the fin set up see what happens. I gotta get me one these!!!
Not quite what you're proposing, but here's a video the Trace guys made last year showing data collected at Lowers over 6 months from a dozen different surfers using the trace sensor. At 00:52 there's a heatmap visualization showing where they hit fastest speeds.

I've heard good things about Logan from Logan Surfboard shop at HB. I've got lucky and haven't had chance to use her service yet. Anyone can vouch for her?
+1 for Molly. Great job and pretty quick turnaround.

Wondering about same question recently and found attached chart for prone boards - make sense for SUPs? More : http://www.surfertoday.com/surfing/8193-the-best-fin-setup-for-a-particular-wave-typeAlso from a Q&A with Steve Boehne (in 2007) : What’s the difference in performance when riding the board as a 3-fin thruster vs. a quad setup? The quad will give you more projection out of a bottom turn. With only three fins, the board will not have as much fin surface to push against. In addition, since the rear fin of a thruster is way back on the tail, it is a little bit stiffer. A quad is really just a thruster with two rear fins. The reason that a quad turns better is because the rear fins are moved about 4” closer to the front fins than a true thruster. The further the spread between the front fins and the rear fin(s) the stiffer any board will be. We learned this over twenty years ago with our innovative Cluster fin design. http://www.standuppaddlesurf.net/2007/12/02/steve-boehne-of-infinity-surf-about-fin-configuration/
