First day of the year

Covesurfer and I have hit the south shore this past summer but it's almost always a study in minutia.  But there was a pay off because today, our first good north shore day, with some well overhead take offs, it felt great to have a little time in the saddle.  Wind held off till 11 which was remarkable.  Swell wasn't  perfect but so much longer than south shore where two to three turns is max before it closes.  Winter has begun...  Here is Kathy robbing the inside where her wave count soars.

Yes, it was a gorgeous day with what I think are ideal sized waves, and surprisingly few people out for a Sunday. Well, at least at 6:30am it was uncrowded.

What is your camera - is that a GoPro on your paddle? I would like to take a couple pix sometimes but don't really want to deal with anything awkward or expensive. Seems like someone could get a cell-phone type camera inside of a paddle. Now that would be cool.
