"...The droid you were looking for".

This might be the one for a lot of photographers who don't want to be drone pilots.

This is the kind of launch video you make if you raise too much money in your second round.

The cable cam concept is really slick, it's not in the general open source yet, must be proprietary to 3DR for now, though of course as soon as anyone say it, a few thousand programmers started typing. Relatively easy to do, but very slick.

The video makes it look like the thing has object avoidance. As far as I know that isn't true. The baboon would have flown the thing straight into a tree. DJI and 3DR are in battle mode. The advances will come fast and furious.

Very cool. I've seen the concept of the cable cam and the pan along a circle on higher end systems. Drones for 3d laser scanning for terrain modeling and such.

There are a lot of camera moves already developed in the generally available tablet-based drone software, like Mission Planner and APM Planner. It's just another bit of programming, but I like the simplicity. Looks like there will be a lot more new stuff coming quickly. 3DR worked with GoPro on a lot of the new camera tech, and it's a really nice level of control integration.
