Pics of the new DC16.
« on: September 22, 2010, 04:57:01 PM »
My friend has a new custom DC16 and today I got to paddle it and take some pics.. and also compare it to my Naish 17' Glide.. It's very nice... (both are).

I was very impressed with the quality and finish and also the attention to detail that Dale puts into his boards.

Next is to get some vid of it on a good down-winder..  :) .. It looks like it will fly.

Nice looking board.  Who makes it, I'm not familiar with it...?

What are the dimensions?

Yes indeed, the DC boards are by Dale Chapman in Australia.

Dale Chapman here in Oz is like what Mark Raaphorst is to you guys in the US.

Travis Grant came second to Danny Ching in the 2010 BOP Hawaii and he used a DC board.

Great pics as usual DJ.

The board looks fast.

Interesting to see the sloping tail that flattens out as you get to the end. The Danny Ching's 404 boards have a very similar tail. You'd think that the thinner/flatter tail would result in a less buoyant tail which may not picked up as easily as a thicker one like the one on the Naish Glide 14'. I wonder what the design philosophy behind it is.
