Red Bull Heavy Water on for OB...Oct 17th - 28th

The tour website has no information and the holding period is over...except Red Bull green light it.  WTF!!!

To top it off the forecast is 12-15 foot with occasional 18ft.

Does anyone know anything???

Two laps through the surf at Ocean Beach then round the headlands under the bridge is my understanding; can't recall where the finish line is.

I'm assuming the finish is past crissy where they said spectator stand is but there is no info on when...at what time it will happen.

Obviously the interesting part will happen at OB....

Ok I found it was delayed until tomorrow because some people or gear had not arrived yet.

I gotta say though that this process and lack of information really makes the Waterman league look like amateurs.

Forecast and crowds might be better on Saturday.

Having fought Ocean Beach's paddle out a SUP can have an advantage because it is fast. 

The shorebreak is brutal when the waves are 12 - 18 feet.  Smaller than this and there can be many holes to get through.  The last time I paddled out with a bunch of prone surfers (7 - 10 ft waves) I was the first one out because I could paddle from my knees faster than they could paddle.  I imagine a race board should fly them through the impact zone.

Waterman League broadcasts .....well..frustration, lack of information, rarely up to date and not particularly user friendly are the usual. I got sooooo fed up with it all last year and footage which looked like a 10 year old was managing it......continually missing the action, camera angles stuck in one position you name it. Saying that, I would usually put up with it to see some action. I've not looked at their website this time around....previously the links for comps were buried away on pages hard to find or they would Facebook updates to say comps were on but not give you the link etc. I hate being so negative but it was amateur previously. But I liked the presenters and their chat was pretty interesting....clearly the budget wasn't there so best they could do.....well....social media is free so they could have kept people updated better.

Yeah was hoping for a live feed.  Does anyone know if there will be one?  Heard today was canceled because no medical teams there to support. 

The Red Bull site is very poor on info.

We have a few Maui kids in it and their Moms will send us pics when they get them.  I'll pass them along when they come.
