That looks sweet.  Makes me want a board with that shape.

What type foam and density did you use and what glassing schedule are you going with?

I usually use 1 lb but went to 1.5 this time. The glassing is a 6 and 4 top and bottom with a 4 oz deck patch. The board is sealed with Spackle first. All clear top and bottom. When I do a board that has wonderful curves I don't like to use color as I think it takes away from the lines of the board.
Boards:

8-10 x 31 Egg
8-11 X 32 Double wing Fangtail Tom Whitaker
8-6 X 30 1\2  Inbetweener Tom Whitaker
8-4 x 30 Hyper quad Tom Whitaker (wife's now)
8-4 X 31 1\4.  Round (wide) Diamond Tail Quad Tom Whitaker
9-4 X 30 1\2. Swallow Stinger Quad Tom Whitaker (ex wifes now)

Great board!
Had it out in overhead surf today and it works just as I had hoped. That great neutral handling I love so much with my prone eggs. Just a pleasure to ride and a great paddler too!

Turned out great. Chelu does probably the best glass job around town. If you can get on his schedule? Looks like it would be a little more stable in the line-up.
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

2 weeks. He's on a good groove now. I'm telling you Matt there isn't 1 flaw in this glass job. Amazing work.

Had a few more sessions on this board. Went from a 9' Greenough fin to a 7.5 for small surf. This is such a fun board to ride. Probably not the best board for a 20 something guy that can ride a 7-0 x 26 but for us normal humans its a total blast. Probably my favorite board for most conditions. Big section ahead? No problem.
Get low and load up the rail and fin and wham-o, you're waaayy down the line. Step back on the tail and bring it around nicely with that curve back there. Works like those prone double enders I always loved so much.

It's great to design a board a little different from the norm and discover that the board is awesome. I strongly suggest you guys look into this type of design with your shaper. I'll send the Shape 3d file if you want.

Oh man...that board looks great!  Nice work. I really like the shape.

Question on the 2+1 fin setup....

I usually ride quads, but am looking to ride a new pseudo-performance (not a nose rider) longboard SUP (8'10 x 26.5, 84 L) with a 2+1.  I'm a light weight at 145 lbs.  I was thinking of going with a 6"-7" center fin but am unsure how to approach the sidebites.  Should I go for a similar size as my front quads?  Or do I go for a smaller set of sidebites on a 2+1?  Right now, I'm looking into a set that is:

Center: 6.25"
Sides: 4.56" (high) x 4.34" (base)

Or, with my weight should I be looking for something more like 3.5" sides?

My gut is that with the added width of a SUP (and more foam in general vs a prone longboard), having a little extra fin is the way to go. Am I on the right track?

I haven't weight it but it's pretty average. not super light as I used 1.5lb foam instead of my usual 1lb. Bulletproof board the way I have Chelu glass it. I wanted to make sure this one is around a very long time. I'm glad I did as this board is absolutely phenomenal.

It's really hard to advise on fins as the total design of the board and also the rider's style will dictate the fins. The best approach is to just start with a setup that looks like it flows with the board. Ride it a few times and discover the pluses and minuses. At that point start playing around if you need to.

Hit up Larry Allison, he can let you know what fins to use and you might even want to pick up a set of his excellent fins too.
