That's how you know it's working
« on: December 01, 2010, 12:40:19 PM »
Spent a really rough night last night with muscles spasming in my back, side and belly. My ab muscles were so rigid it felt like I was stashing a basketball in my guts. About two in the morning when it progressively getting worse I finally rummaged in the medicine cabinet for ancient prescription painkillers I never used. Worked like a charm and I got some sleep propped up on the couch.

Combination of OC-1 paddling and Dave's Beach workouts. Either by themselves would have been okay, but in combination it was a little too much. Lots of sympathy from Diane--she's going around saying her new favorite Dave Kalama quote "It's just a feeling". As in "that exhaustion you're feeling is just a feeling" only her translation is "Those cramps you're feeling--it's just a feeling".

Fortunately I have a conference call at 1:00 and can't do anything stupid until after that. Unfortunately the wind is up, the whitecaps are rolling and the phone is ringing.

We'll see. Maybe a late southsider?

You sure you're not in labor?  Sounds like my wife and she's 38 weeks now...

My favourite saying for those pains you feel after you've done a lot of work:  "It hurts as the weakness leaves your body".  Like all things, if you think about them positively they seem to hurt just a bit less.....

Hey, it's a good hurt!
best thing is even though you're hurting you're  thankful that you have the ability to push so hard and do it again!
keep paddling and posting

Pain is a lack of nutrition and supplementation. Timing is everything knowing when to feed the body and supplement is the key factor in resisting so called pain. If you don't have a Pre and post program then the pain is your best friend.SOS
