Kauai East or North Shore -Nov. SUP Rental

Headed to Kauai and need to rent a board and paddle for the week.

I found these guys but I always trust local knowledge over just goin' for it.

I know there's a shop in Hanalei, but they've never struck me as overly SUP friendly, and then there's the beach rental, but they mostly have the 12'6" Laird Softop that rules the world.

Anyone got better options? Preferably folks who support the sport and have solid (and maybe more surfy) gear.

The Titus Kinimaka's Quiksilver store in Hanalei rents Hyper Nulu boards.  I never used on but the look better than the soft tops

Update on Kauai -

The Quiksilver store in Hanalei does indeed have Hypr Nalu boards for rent. Great deals too.

$35 a day and $150 per week for board, leash and paddle. The folks there were super cool and you can swap out during the week for anything from a 7'11" (I think) up to an 11'11". That's kinda rad for trying some new boards and also nice for swapping from cruising to surfing day to day.

It's nice to see some surfable boards in the rental pool too.

Bravo or Beagle, If you guys see a dude with a goatee down to his chest out in the water, say hey.

Titus has his own boards for rent now too. Really fun, I rode a 10'X30" thruster that was a ball, if maybe a bit wide for my size. They have all the way down into the 8' range and up to 11'.

I'm headed there next week and am looking for some short SUP rentals.

Any updated info would be great.  I was told to check out  "Hawaiian Surf Academy", but a thorough Google search does not yield any results with that exact name.

Hit up the Quik store in Hanalei. Nothing too short when I was there last fall but they had some 9'3's and who knows now.

The Surfing Academy had mostly larger stuff but it's easy to check. They are right at the pier.

Finally, there's a surf shop in the old school that has some stuff and might have something small, oh and then Backdoor too.
