The South Jersey Stoke!!!!
« on: September 17, 2010, 07:47:42 PM »
So I started SUPing this year. Went out once or twice a week all summer and am slowly getting better. At 245 and 5'6" riding a big Pau Hana Big EZ brings some limitations. I am having fun and catching waves and continue to learn. Waves were nice today in Strathmere. Sundays gonna be good if the prediction is on...

Yea man

We SUPed there around 4pm. Super long rides from the outer bars all the way in. Its nice to have people there now as I have been alone there too long. I had made a post about Danielle surfing the north point of Strathmere all the way into the inlet. Its the perfect spot for BIG swell. We'll look for you. BTW come out to the full moon paddle next week it should be fun!!

Waves were big but mushy and pushing hard...current was ripping. My best efforts couldnt get me to the outside break. My arms felt like spaghetti after a half hour so I came in....then it just turned into a washing machine. Is there a point where you guys just cant get out?? It happened to me once this summer when waves were just stacked up one after another. Even the prone surfers were having a time getting out.

yes there are limits to what you can do, But as you get better with time it all comes together, staying on your feet paddling out is the key but it takes time to get wired, Also our northern beaches are more protected by very long and tall jettys that help break the current, side chops and winds making for easy paddle outs. Keep up the stoke you will get there!
