Putting some deck pad pieces over smooth deck pad??
« on: June 25, 2010, 09:09:02 PM »
I have the black camo Starboard Pocket Rocket and the camo is a full deck pad.  The area where you stand in the middle has bumps on the pad which is great, however the rest of the board is almost a smooth pad.  I've had my back foot slip off twice now when pivoting harder.  I'd like to just add some deck pad pieces on top of the current deck pad.  Has anyone done this or does it not work?  I really don't want to remove the deck pad.

I did it with my starboard Cruiser and it has held up so far.

I little wax works too. I wax my Naish pad. It soaks into the foam and doesn't make the mess you would think it might. It works nice.

DW's on the mark...wax is good. The finish on my 12-6 had worn smooth last winter and with boots on it was even worse. A little wax works wonders.
