SUS in Fort Pierce/Jensen Beach Florida

Will be traveling to Jensen Beach in mid-March with my wife. We are from SoCal but she wants to consider a possible move. Does anyone have any tips re: good surf breaks in this area? I have never been on the Atlantic coast of Florida. Any and all information is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Sinner...  I've never been there (JB) but I have monitored cameras in FL—especially in the Winter—for a number of years and the JB cam has shown a beach break that is pretty reliable—for a beach break.  The N. side of the Jupiter Inlet never has anybody on it (beach access?) but can have waves from way outside.   Again, no local knowledge.  There was a SUP shop in JB, you might want to search them out.

East Coast SUP Surfing Circuit (ESSC) always has one leg at Jensen each year so must be good.  Take a look at pics from the last few years.

Sinrumbofigo, we have a home in Vero Beach just north of Ft Pierce. Ft. pierce has some good  consistent winter surf especially north of the inlet. I have SUSed there a number of times . Lovely park there with big beach and plenty of room to surf...
I have only seen surf in Jensen Beach, never surfed there, but I hear it is good.

95% of the time I head up to Sebastián and Melbourne Beach area about 20- 30 mins north of Vero Beach. Really good surf up there and so many breaks to choose from.  A1A is lined with parks and nice beaches.  Definitely check this area out...I prefer it to Ft.Pierce
Vero Beach has beautiful paddling on the river ,but unfortunately only a pounding dumping beach break so the surf stinks and why I head north or south.

Thanks to all for the good advice. Caribsurf--when our plans finalize a little more, I will send you a PM. I admittedly have been very spoiled by Ventura relatively uncrowded point breaks, but eager to experience what this area of Florida has to offer.
