I am not as heavy  I am 190 lbs and have ridden the Hero in flat and choppy conditions.  Stable as a table even in big chop, paddles well for it's size and catches waves ok  feels a little sluggish on the wavesdue to 33" wide  but very loose.  I want to experiment with fins to see if I can speed it up.  I was really impressed with this board and posted a review last week
Hobie Raw 8'10"
Jimmy Lewis Kwad 8'7"
Naish Hover 95 liter 5'7"
F-One Rocket foil board 5'5" 90 liters
Fanatic Aero 1250, 1500, 1750 HA foils
CabrinhaMantis 3.5, 4m 5m. F-One Strike 7m CWC
Hobie 14' race board

The best thing is to Demo one.
I have had guys 220# surf on the Hero
and love it.
If you are riding a board in this range 146L,
then it should be a great board for you.
If you want to make the drive we have one you can
Demo.

Rented this for my gf one day and ended up using it my self while she used my 11 psh. Tons of fun and the stability is surprising with heavy chop and me being 250-255.
