Matt rides this board well. Even more impressive was seeing Dave Kalama at the Kahului Harbor this weekend on some head high hollow sections just killing it. Total vertical top to bottom lip smacks. He was on a 8'6 prototype and weighs about 200lbs. The lines of this board were sick!! Super thin in the tail and about 28 1/2 or so wide. Credit to Dave as he maintained his balance no problem even though the board was pretty much under water. It will be interesting to see if Naish decides to produce this board in their line.

Its interesting to me that someone mentioned that its looks too loose. I saw an earlier vid that might have been on Naish's website where it was clear that the board had a LOT of rocker. If you are not pushing on those fins all the time, surfng it like a shortboard with a  good rhythm, then the surfing doesn't look so good to me. But, this guy rips and I think he has great rhythm on the thing.  Like you look at that great vid of the guy surfing the 9'3 Ripper in small waves, and he gets a lot of assistance in glide because the thing is way more volume, and has a big flat spot in the center.  Take all that away...and its all you making it happen, or letting it bog down. I'd say this guy is making it happen, but its subjective I guess.
