Hey BrittanysDad,

Send me a PM some time when you're going out or plan to go out. I've been SUP'ng the Indian River for more than a year (kayaking it too for about 5 years) and never mind company. A buddy of mine (BaldBrother from 2ndLight) and I hit it every now and again and are working up to do a long haul. Let me know. We're locals.

I ride a SouthPoint Timpone 11'6" and a Timpone 10'6". I definitely agree with the post that it is nice to have a longer and a smaller SUP board in your quiver. 11'6 is good for longer voyages and I'm thinking for down winders and the 10'6 for both fitness paddles but also surf. And as far as new boards go, at least locally, I've noticed that whatever the brand, whatever the length, whatever the year, all SUP boards are $1,495.00. $1,495.00. Sheesh. (I did get a really good deal on the Timpone 10'6 since it was a 2 year old model (had dust all over it--walked out the store with it for $1,100.00). I love my boards.

Cheers!

That is great that you got the Aipa.  Such a good price as well.  you got everything with a paddle for a grand.  That was unheard of two years ago.  Ben Aipa doesn't really do marketing too much but he is an unreal shaper and still surfs really well.  I think he has a niche specialty of being able to make floatier boards for big guys that can surf real well because he is a big guy that surfs real well.  You should see him charge Haleiwa.  He is a monster.  Your board looks great.  Have fun and be safe.
