Well i just arived from Australia to Maui.I had organised a F16 to hire for three weeks.I had arranged to do the Maui to Molkai race as a team.I visited SIC factory today to pick up board. No board till maybe 12 july, there goes my chance at a channel crossing.Really bummed.I managed to hire a 14' naish to paddle the Moliko this week but no board for the crossing and maybe no board for the naish race. AAARH.

Bugger! ..  :-\

Does anyone on Maui have suggestions for  any places that rent a good downwind board for this next week? I guess they might all be gone already ?

I'm in the same situation as Markoffshore, coming from Australia for a week from Monday, and had arranged a board through SIC. Got the email from Karen a couple days ago about the delay; sounds like they are doing all they can to get it in.

Mark and Stuey, sorry to hear about the delay on your boards.

Kelly's shuttle is running me up to maliko tomorrow at 1:00.  My plan is to paddle my oc-1 or footie 14.

The shuttle will likely be full at 1:00, but an early call may get a seat.

If a boardless aussie is interested, I'll be happy to bring my F-16.  Try to book a seat or meet us at the top and have a run.

Unfortunately, I'm a bit too paranoid to rent it out.  But I'm happy to loan it for a run if I can take it home. ;D

Thanks mate for the offer.I have hired a board until next fri. a 14 naish.I have never ridden before so should be fun.I have a f16 and f18 at home and im in love with the F16.My worry is i will not have a board for the Naish race on the 18.This is a once in a life time chance that i may miss,i have been saving my pennies after watching last years race on the net, and any chance comming back to Maui any time in the next few years are slight. Getting a chance of hiring a board made it possible so fingers crossed the boards show.
I will be doing my first Moliko tomorrow with Mat the Maui local i was to partener in the maui to molikia race.Stoked.
regards
Mark

Thanks heaps for the offer LaPerouse,

I fully understand about not renting it - I have an F14 at home so I understand the paranoia. :)

I'm not on Maui until late Monday, and will check things out more then, if you go for a run later in the week I'd be keen to get on the shuttle for a run.

Got an e-mail from Karen. She said they will arrive  on Maui July 16 th. They are asking for final payment. Looks like those paddling the Molokai to Oahu race will have them in time ?

Wow finally some good news. Atleast now we are going to have some honestly good feedback on this SUB on our own local run. Can't wait.
