Any Slackers?
« on: February 12, 2010, 08:16:51 AM »
Any of you guys into slackline?  Channy and I have one strung between two trees and are slacking daily.  This thing is crazy addictive.  No freestyle for us, but man is this incredible for balance.

I've messed around with it a few times since we've started carrying them (I work at REI), and have been debating getting a setup. Seems like it'd have some of the same focus/balance/addictive fun benefits of paddling. I've just got to figure out acouple of anchors for the yard. Some amazing vids out there...

They'll still be there, they'll just be a little more decisively separated.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

The key when setting line height is to low-ball it.  Set the line just lower than your low ball  :)

You may have to lower it a bit every now and again.  When you find that the line is set below your knees, you have offcially become "that guy" and out of courtesy, it is time to quit showering at the gym.

Stick with it...and watch the wrists on the falls...becuase they happen fast.

This category is the correct spot for off-water training and balance techniques/tools and it is full of good stuff ranging from Yoga to Kettlebells to Indo Boards.

Slack on.
